Everlasting Love

It’s 4 pm.
She pours herself a cup of piping hot coffee.
Seated at the window, she enjoys the view.

It’s 5 pm, her phone rings.
It’s her grandson. She is elated.
They talk and talk. She tells him how much she misses him.

It’s 6 pm.
All memory of the cup of coffee she just had, has been obliterated.
She pours herself another cup.

It’s dinner time.
She has forgotten her pills.
She goes to bed without taking her medicines, no worries of illness,
for she has more faith in the Almighty.

Her 90 year old brain tends to forget mundane things.

But what she never forgets, is the love she has for her children.
It won’t matter if they are too busy for her, she never forgets them. She will never forget to keep them in her prayers.

Because at the end of the day, she is a mother.
She might forget her medicines,
or forget what she had for lunch;
but she will never forget
to love her children.
